Here is the latest version of my resumé: Jessica Dover Resume.pdf
I could write a long narrative about my life and history and whatnot, but I would like it if many people read this, not just my mother (love you, mom). So, here’s the bullet version (not an exhaustive list):
-
I got my Bachelor’s degree in Music. As a trumpet player. -
I practiced a lot. -
I am bilingual in Spanish and English and have been interpreting for over six years. I learned Spanish through school, self-study, and practicing. A lot (see previous bullet). -
I can stand on my head. -
I have learned that while you can lose the accent, some Southernisms just won’t go away. This can be a good thing
(see: handwritten thank-you notes). Sometimes it is not
(see: sweet-tea/hushpuppy-induced coma). -
I’m just going to come out and say it: I moved to Portland because my husband was playing in a band. In the course of two weeks we sold our house, went to Costa Rica, got married, came back to the states, packed up a truck, and moved to Portland with nary a job nor place to stay between us. -
We really like Portland. -
I once went snorkeling with whale sharks. -
I played the processional and recessional for Jon Faddis’s wedding. Trumpet geeks will swoon over this one. -
I like cats and dogs. However, I own only cats because they know where their bathroom is while I am out of town. -
¡Pura vida!
